WOW !! Incredible work & dedication - thanks for your efforts Hungryghost.
A side note which relates with what, I dunno:
Since ~2 days ago this site only partially opens in my 'daily driver' browser (Basilisk).
All that arrives is the white & blue - no text or anything else.
It does fully open in Librewolf though & that is how I am posting right now.
During my waking hours Basilisk always remains open vs. Librewolf that is usually only opened briefly once per day.
Yes to the 1st part & before posting I did the 2nd 2-3 times with no changes - in fact that browser has a reload/no cache function as well & that also brought no more of the site up for me.
So, once again, I am visiting here courtesy of Librewolf.
Ok, thanks. I'm not sure why this would have changed all of a sudden. Nothing has really changed on the UI side of things lately. I'll take a look though and see if there's anything I can find out.
Thanks for the restore. Most of it is nice to have again. There are a few issues with particular ones.
The long ones are a pain to navigate. I see there is a go to option which helps a bit I guess. Eg hot deals with 580 posts. Would you mind if we had new threads for the really long ones like say a hot deals 2? Maybe others like it all together I don't know.
And it would probably be better to archive the old referral thread and keep the new one separate. With the way the forum shows the oldest posts first most of the top ones are covering defunct providers (cellnuvo!) or are so old they are probably not working any more. Don't know if you want to bother with that or not. I don't want to take up any more of your time if it is trouble.
It would be REALLY nice if you could jump to the end / most recent response of a thread by tapping on a button or the x min, x hrs in the topics list, without having to be signed in.
ETA - I did find that that tapping on the # of posts (58x in hot deals) does then allow me to skip to end date. One tap would be nice but better than having to "skip to" & type in 58x.
While signed in, 2 similar options work for me: from 'Topic view', double-click on the number of posts & you'll go immediately to the last post. Single-clicking brings up a drop-down selection that allows selection of 'first post' or 'last past' in the topic. There doesn't seem to be any 'new to me' divider option, so you have to go to the last post & scan back up for any comments you might have not seen before. I haven't tested this while logged out.
I don't want to overstep boundaries, but I does anyone see any harm if I scan through and delete old posts in Hot Deals? (I think I have access to these tools, but have to investigate....) It's not likely that 2 year old posts are hot anymore, since by nature most are temporary deals. It will likely be next week before I have time to go through the learning curve to make sure I do it right.
I think it might also be possible to split the Referrals thread and Visible Party Pay threads into New Forum and Old Forum/Archived threads, but I'm not sure that the created 'Old Topic' can be locked.
Hi everyone. Thanks for all that feedback. It's very helpful.
I'm going to let @KentE decide how to organize these old thread. It totally makes sense to me to archive obsolete posts!
@Redrotors - As for the jumping to the end of the thread, yeah, Discourse has some quirks, but there are ways, as you've discovered, to get to the end without manually scrolling or paging.
@One - I'm still not seeing anything obvious about why you're seeing a blank page in your Basilisk browser. There are a couple of other things I can look into, but that'll have to wait until maybe this weekend or next.
Not sure it matters, but I had a similar issue with the "old" forum on FireFox on Linux Mint. The "Splash" page would only partially open, had to refresh to be able to get to the actual forum. I do not have that issue with the new layout.

I don't know if I'm just exceptionally lucky, but for me, even when I'm not logged into Nth, I can go to the last post in a thread simply by hitting the End key. (On laptop).
I usually don't sign in, so the End key without logging in works nicely for me.
Not seeing that button on mobile, even when I "request desktop" site.
Wonder if it could be added to mobile version. Would be nice I think? I think there is room without it looking too cluttered? @hungryghost is it an option that could be enabled on mobile?
I think the end button that @phonatic is referring to is the end key on most standard desktop keyboards. That key press typically moves the cursor to the end of the page in most browsers. When using a mobile browser on your phone, you probably won't have the same ability to simply press the end key (most soft keyboards on mobile phones don't have that).
@Redrotors - There are a couple of other ways to jump to the end of a thread (when using a mobile browser).
From the homepage list of topics:
Tap on the number of replies for the topic
A popup should appear with two arrows: one pointing up to the first post, another pointing down to the last post
Tap on the down arrow button
The topic will load and you will be taken directly to the last post
If you are already inside a topic and want to quickly skip to the last post:
On mobile, you should see something like 1/583 in the lower right. This is your relative position in the thread (post 1 out of 583 posts)
Tap on that and you should see a "topic scroller" panel appear at the bottom
Drag the scroll bar up or down to quickly jump to any post in the thread. Drag it to the bottom to jump to the last post
By the way, that topic scroller component is always shown at the top right of every topic in the desktop version of the website. It's the fastest way to jump to any position within the thread.
Thanks hungrygohst, I had discovered & use the first method you describe (mentioned it above but I didn't describe it nearly as clearly as you did). I hadn't noticed the scroll bar so thanks for mentioning it, I'll keep an eye out when I need it.
